Grammy winning recording artist, Colin Hay applies the magic of Lauten Audio’s Multi-voicing(tm), Atlantis studio microphone to his latest solo release, “Next Year People.”
Perhaps best known as a founding member of the 80’s Australian band, Men at Work, Hay has also had a very successful solo career since the early 2000’s. Hay’s newest album, “Next Year People,” was released on February 17th. Hay recently added a pair of Lauten Audio’s Atlantis, FC-387 Multi-voicing(tm), studio microphones to his studio. “I received a demo of the Atlantis in late 2013 and it sounded stellar. Shortly after I had ordered a new one, I asked to purchase and keep the demo unit as well.”

After about an hour of introductory explanations of gear by Dangerous Music Sales Manager and Audio Alchemist President, Marek Stycos, Grammy award winning mix engineer F. Reid Shippen took the spotlight and walked the Nashville audience through his workflow for mixing with the Dangerous Music Compressor and BAX EQ. Nearly 100 of Nashville’s local artists, producers, engineers and studio owners turned out at Vintage King Audio’s headquarters just a stone’s throw from many top studios in Music City. The event was one of over 30 that Dangerous Music and Audio Alchemist has assembled across the US during 2014 involving stores, along with engineers that use Dangerous Music products; the Company plans to continue its seminars in 2015.

The recent unveiling of Creative Sound showcases Amadeus’ extraordinary expertise in architectural acoustic design. Located at the heart of the 15th Arrondissement in Paris, Creative Sound is one of the largest, most versatile full-service post-production facilities in France, providing creative solutions for all cinematic and TV sound needs. Paris-based Amadeus was tasked with all of the interior acoustical and architectural design, including sound isolation, noise and vibration control engineering, and acoustic treatments for each of the ten studios. At Creative Sound, Amadeus also designed one of the first mixing studios to be fitted with the revolutionary Dolby(r) Atmos(tm) audio technology, which hosts the first ultra-large-format Harrison MPC5 digital film-mixing console manufactured by Harrison – based in Nashville.

Longtime mastering engineer Jonathan Wyner has added the newly released Dangerous Compressor to his already well-stocked Dangerous Music-equipped studio. Wyner’s Cambridge, MA based studio sports the Dangerous Music Master, Liaison and BAX EQ as well. Wyner is a Grammy-Nominated engineer who has mastered over 5,000 CDs so far in his nearly 30-year career. “The first thing I noticed about the Dangerous Compressor was the signal path through the compressor,” he says. “It gives a subtly warm presence while remaining open and retaining transparency. Yesterday I was working on a single for Josh Groban and I was able to tighten the dynamics very gently while maintaining the subtlety and nuance of his incredible vocal performance.
